Valko BJJ at C3 7/12/08
Valko BJJ would like to thank and congratulate Allen, Maurice, Lawrence, Scott and George for competing in the C3 competition over the weekend. Maurice won 2 silver medals in the brown belt division and the no gi advanced, Allen won a silver medal in the blue belt absolute, and Lawrence won bronze in the blue belt division!
Valko BJJ First Belt Promotion
Valko BJJ had it’s first belt promotion ceremony on June 28th. Valko BJJ is proud of and congratulates Allen, Ryan, Will, Chan, Ed, Ralph, TJ and George for being the team’s first blue belts! A big congratulations to Jason Braswell for earning his brown belt!
Jay Valko Awarded Black Belt
Jay Valko was awarded his black belt by Eduardo DeLima on Saturday, June 14th, at Eduardo’s Gracie Barra school in Tampa. Jay began training under Eduardo in February of 2000.

AMERICAN GLADIATORS TRAINING AT VALKO BJJ
In preparation for season two of American Gladiators, Venom, AKA Beth Horn, is training hard with Valko BJJ instructor Jay Valko to improve her grappling skills in order to dominate the competition. Season one competitor Mark Baker of Elite Chiropractic has been training at Valko BJJ since the academy first opened. Mark is currently a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

Congratulations to Will and Chan for representing the team very well. Will Robinson won Gold in the no gi beginner and Silver in the white belt division. This was Will’s second tournament.
Valko BJJ at Extreme Grappling Open
Congratulations to Jay Valko and Mike Cornille for thier wins at the EGO. Jay won the brownbelt gold medal and Mike won the advnaced no-gi silver medal!
Valko BJJ at NAGA 9/29
Congratulations to Mike Bruschuk for winning a gold medal in the intermediate no gi division and to Mike Cornille for winning the bronze medal in the advanced no gi division.
Valko Jiu-jitsu thanks and is proud of Brush, Mike, Ed and Ralphie who all competed and represented the team well!
Valko BJJ at NAGA Midwest;
Although only three people from Valko BJJ went to compete at NAGA Midwest, the team came back with two swords (1st place prize), a silver medal and a championship belt.
Jay Valko won the NAGA midwest superfight and championship belt by defeating black belt Henry Matamoros 10-0.
Tom Swiss won the 1st place sword in the blue belt division and a silver medal in the no gi division.
Mick Nunn won the 1st place sword in the white belt division after only training eight weeks and having no prior experience.

Stephan Bonnar wins his return to the UFC;
After nine months, two surgeries, and a trip to Thailand, Stephan Bonnar returned to the Octagon and defeated Mike Nickels at 2:14 of the first round by rear naked choke. Stephan had Jay Valko and Duke Roufus in his corner and had been training hard with both teams to prepare for this fight.
